Support Small Businesses More Say Direct Line

Direct Line was happy to see the chancellor introduce a new tax band of 10 percent for gains up to GBP1 million but would like to see more support for small business owners in the future.
They see the change as a positive one for UK entrepreneurs, although the view of Direct Line is that the complexity of how the band has been introduced and what business owners need to do is overly complex. Feedback they have received from their small business customers is that confusion reigns right now, with many business owners unsure exactly how the new system will work.
In a recent survey by Direct Line they found that just over a third of the businesses spoken to were unaware of the proposed revision, whilst a quarter said that, although they were aware of it they did not know how it affected them.
